Our Wedding - July 17, 2010

I have been receiving a lot of emails lately asking for more pics of our wedding and house.

We have been married for almost three years so wedding pics are much easier to post.

This is going to be a long post. So have a seat and get comfy!

It truly seems like yesterday.

We got married on Amelia Island in northeast Florida.

I grew up about an hour and fifteen minutes away.

My parents have had a condo there since I was four.

I always wanted to get married there but knew it would come with many challenges.

I knew for sure that I did not want an outdoor ceremony.

I have extremely naturally curly hair that dramatically reacts to humidity and moisture. Think Richard Simmons.

Not having an outdoor wedding in Amelia Island was certainly a challenge.

Almost all of the ceremony and reception venues are outside.

We had to write a letter to the local Methodist church basically begging them to allow us to be married there.

They agreed to let us non-members be married in their beautiful church.
(My family are members of First United Methodist in my hometown)
It turned out to be one of the best things we did.

We got to know their fabulous pastor, who also did our marriage counseling.
(required by most states or churches)

We ended up being married in the First United Methodist Church and had our reception at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island.

The ceremony started at 6 o'clock followed by a cocktail hour and then the reception.

We took pics on the beach during the cocktail hour.

The party was just ok...

HA! Who am I kidding? The reception was AMAAAAAZING.

The leader of the band told us before we ran out for our getaway that he had never seen white people so drunk.

WON THAT PARTY.

Seriously though....

It was absolutely a dream come true from start to finish.

Here is a slideshow of some of our wedding pics.

cameron and susannah

I'm biased but I really love the slideshow.

It's the best way to see our wedding from start to finish.

More pics and info about our wedding below!!

Take THAT 60% chance of rain on my wedding day!

My dad seeing me for the first time on my wedding day and his first time to see my dress ever.
Still can't look at these without tearing up.

My husband is so handsome.

Best wedding party ever.

Loved my massive bouquet. It's still intact and dried at my parent's condo.

So excited to be heading into our reception!

Brass band and tables outside on the balcony during the cocktail hour.

Sweet cousins...

Our reception's theme was "The places we love, the food we love, surrounded by the people we love."

Cameron and I traveled a good bit during our courtship and wanted to make that a part of our reception.

We love to try local foods wherever we are traveling to.

We decided to do food stations, each representing a place we traveled to.

Oxford, Mississippi - where we met and fell in love. awwwwwww
Little Italy, New York - Cam's first trip with my family
Rothbuy, Michigan - Our first music festival together (1st of many)
California - Where Cam lived for almost a year. Combining all of my visits, I was there for over a month
Amelia Island - We have visited every chance we can get!

At each station there were pics of us during the trips and a story board explaining the significance of each place.

Here is just a taste of what was served at each station.

Oxford, MS
Catfish po-boys and Truffle Mac n' cheese

Fernandina/Amelia Island
Shrimp & Grits
Crabcakes

California
Mushrooms for the Fondue Station

Little Italy
Flat bread pizzas

Rothbury, Michigan (Music Festival Location)
Stir-fry

Instead of a cake...
(Confession: I never eat cake at a wedding. Don't know why)

We had mini desserts and a Croquenbush. Um...YUM.

Mini Creme Brulee, Key Lime Tarts, Petit Fours, Cheesecake Lollipops, Chocolate Mousse, and Passion Fruit Mouse

Let's do it again!
