Valentine's Trip

Cameron surprised me with a Valentine trip to Stone Mountain and then to my hometown to visit my family.

So sweet and thoughtful.

We got to Stone Mountain a little after lunch.

We ate lunch overlooking the mountain and then decided to take the gondola ride to the top.

We ended the day with drinks and appetizers at the hotel.

The next day we ate breakfast and got in the car. Waycross bound!

We got to Waycross that afternoon.

I LOVED BEING HOME.

My parents are doing a little redecorating. Love the photo wall.

My favorite piece of the renovation is this amazing built in.

 It totally transforms the room.

Gorgeous.

My nephew is precious.

We ended the weekend with a pasta night.
Love my mom's "Italian" decor.

It was a short trip but it was oh-so sweet.

Much needed.

Can't wait to go back again for Easter.

5 Things I Love

Mid-day phone chats with my Dad.

Horrible pic.
But I love that Facebook suggested Cameron give me OREOS as a surprise V-day gift.
I suggested he not listen to Facebook and get me jewelry instead.

Major hair envy!!
LOVE her hair. I am challenged when it comes to using hair tools. Anyone want to help me?
Seriously though.

My mom KILLED it again. She is the master at gift giving.
looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove the koozie

and one more thing I love just because it's Valentines week...

Denzel Nkemdiche wearing a "GO NKappa" shirt.
I think that is such a cute and clever idea.
Good job Ole Miss Kappas!

Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Nothing too exciting going on around here today.

BUT...

We are leaving on a fun trip bright and early tomorrow morning.

More details on that next week.

We are taking it easy tonight.

Probably going to order a pizza and catch up on the Bachelor.

I love married Valentine's Days. A lot easier. Less pressure.

Happy Valentine's Day to my sweet, loving, Ole Miss-obsessed husband.

I love and adore your crazy self.

And to my precious baby Valentines.

Fabulous Finds at Old Navy and Target

Untitled #33

Once again, I'm having awesome luck at Old Navy and Target.

I got all three tops and the dress from Old Navy.

They recently got in spring colors of their very popular Oxford shirts.

I got black and neon yellow-y/green.

I already have a neon pink one that I wear all the time.

I plan on wearing the polka dot denim top with a lot of colored jeans in the spring.

An Old Navy sales person told me that their jeans will be going on sale on Thursday.

They have great colors for spring in right now.

There was a periwinkle pair that I was obsessed with but my legs aren't exactly ready for bright colors. Don't want to draw attention to them.

I got the polka dot dress a few weeks ago but hadn't worn it because I thought it needed to be belted.

Target has always has a great selection of belts. I found the neon belt and thought it would be perfect with the Old Navy polka dot dress.

I have never had a pair of nude pumps but they have become a required staple.

I found this pair at Target and my problem was solved!

I love that I have bought a few basics that will carry me through the end of winter and the crazy weather we've been having in the South lately.

Happy Shopping!

Best Dressed of the 2013 Grammy Awards

She is def not my fave but this look is simply amazing!
Stunning from head to toe.
Love the hair.

The Queen B did it again.
Perfection.

Loved this look on her.
The color and shape was perfect for her. Not sure that i'm sold on the hair.

Whoever is guiding John Mayer through his current life change is doing very well.
He's starting to look like a gentlemen and not a jerk.
Always knew you had it in you John!

Loved Kaley Cuoco's dressy casual look.
Not sure if it's what I would have worn to the Grammy's.
Still a great look that I will be def be using for outfit inspiration.

Favorite Couple Award
LOVED her dress. It was perfect for the occasion.
Chrissy Teigen's bag and hairstyle perfectly accent her outfit.
And John Legend is just adorable.

Gypsy Sisters on TLC

It's really hard to write a post on something when you are left speechless after viewing it.

Case in point...

Gypsy Sisters on TLC

Seriously y'all...

I don't even know where to start...

Try combining Honey Boo Boo, Real Housewives of New Jersey, Intervention, and every other insane reality TV show out there.

In the preview alone, these people look absolutely out of their minds.

Motoroil as a tanning lotion?

Gypsy Mellie acting like Lindsey Lohan?

I mean I'm all about having fun but that girl needs to be in a cage.

They literally beat the he!! out of people on the sidewalk in the middle of the day!

Don't even get me started on how they dress.

DEAR GOD HELP THEM.

But you know I'll be watching those crazies!

I'm picking Kayla as my fave.

Pretzel Chicken in a Honey Mustard Sauce

This recipe is being pinned like crazy on Pinterest.

It's easy, delicious, and will definitely be added to my recipe repertoire.

Here's what you need:
4 cups of coarsely crushed, hard or sourdough pretzels
*I didn't have any sourdough pretzels so I just used the regular pretzels I had.
1/2 cup of neutral tasting olive oil
1/2 Dijon mustard
1/3 cup of honey
1/4 cup bottled water
*Recipe called for bottled. I used tap.
3 tablespoons of red wine vinegar
Coarse Salt
Fresh ground black pepper
*I used table salt and ground pepper
1 1/2 lbs. chicken breasts
*I used strips but breasts would have worked better

1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Take a wire baking rack and place it on top of a rimmed baking sheet.

2. Using a food processor, pulse the pretzels until they are mostly small pieces with a few large bits.

I put the pretzels in a ziploc and crunched them up with my hand.

3. Add the oil, mustard, honey, water, and vinegar to a food processor and pulse until it is smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Feel free to add more honey or mustard to customize this sauce how you like it.

5. Pour half of the sauce into a large shallow bowl or dish. Add the chicken. Make sure each breast is coated with the sauce.

6. Pour the pretzel pieces and crumbs into a shallow bowl. Dredge each breast or strip in the mixture. Covering them thoroughly. Feel free to get messy and use your hands to pat the pretzels onto the chicken.

7. Carefully place each piece of chicken onto the wired rack on the rimmed baking sheet.

8. Bake the chicken for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.

9. Let it rest on the rack for at least 5 minutes before serving.

I served my chicken with wild rice, steamed green beans, and sauteed mushrooms.

I absolutely loved this recipe. I love a delicious sauce.

There's a good chance that you have most of the ingredients in your pantry or refrigerator already.

I think I needed to break up my pretzel pieces a little bit more.

They didn't cling to the chicken very well.

Other than that, everything was almost perfect.

The sauce is sooooo gooooood.

I may serve in the future as a dip with pretzels.

When reheating this dish, I would use your oven so that the pretzels get crispy again.

The microwave might make them a little soggy.

Let me know what you think about this recipe if you try it.

Bon appetit!
